You’ve been working out, cutting calories, doing cardio faithfully, yet you STILL haven’t made your goal of getting a body worthy of being on stage and competing in a figure competition. You struggle with your diet program… how many calories, protein, carbs, fat, sugar, sodium, etc. If you’ve been searching for the perfect figure competitor’s diet, you’ve come to the right place.
The first thing you have to understand about a figure competition diet is that if you want to lower body fat and keep your muscle, you NEED to eat a diet that’s clean and void of processed foods. Processed foods have no value for the body. Processed foods contain fillers and other additives that can stall fat loss and cause fat gain. Successful figure competitors cut processed food out of their diet, and you must do so as well.
A figure competitor’s diet is rich in nutrients from complete proteins, complex carbs, non-starchy veggies, and essential fats. Every time you eat a meal it needs to contain the right balance of calories and macro-nutrients to build muscle and ignite fat loss.
It’s good to start your diet program off with a fair amount of calories to supply energy. As the weeks pass and your weight and body fat drops, you need to tweak your diet, lowering calories and carbs to keep your body fat and weight moving down. A figure competitor’s diet can be extremely low in calories and carbs the last few weeks before contest time.
Here’s an example of a successful figure competitors’ diet:

Meal #1 – 4-6 egg whites, 1 yolk, grilled veggies, and 2% cheese made into a veggie omelet

Meal #2 – Fruit protein shake

Meal #3 – 3-4 oz grilled chicken breast with garlic roasted asparagus on the side

Meal #4 – Low-carb protein drink with a stick of celery topped with natural peanut butter

Meal #5 – 3-4 oz grilled turkey breast with steamed green beans on the side

Meal #6 – Low-carb protein shake and a handful of nuts
Choosing the right figure competition diet is important if you want to lose body fat and keep your lean muscle mass. Your diet MUST be comprised of natural foods and avoid anything processed, otherwise it will show on stage.
