Preparing for a figure competition is a journey in itself. Not only do you need to weight train, do cardio, practice posing, tan, supplement, choose figure heels, etc., but you also need to get your figure competition suit. Your figure competition suit is a vital part of your figure success and it's not generally a simple task. It's best to get a figure competition suit that goes well with your skin tone, hair color, and your physique build.

The cut of your figure competition suit is also a critical decision. There are a few distinctive fashion posing suits you can select from, as some are more revealing than others.

* The Brazil style with a round top fits high on your hips. It has less than 3/4" wide sides and it accents the sides of glutes. This is a modest suit.

* The Brazil cut with a v-top fits high on your hips, has a v-shape in the front and the back with slim sides. This is just a little bit more revealing.

* The Rio cut with a curved top fits high on your hips. It's the more revealing than the Brazil style suits. It has a round top on the front and the back.

* The Rio cut with a v-top fits high on your hips. It has a v-shaped top on the front and rear with thin sides. This is the most revealing suit and looks neat if you are on target.

If you feel you are not lean enough, try the Brazil cut with a round top or the Rio style with a round top. These are also good figure posing suits to select if you are not comfortable with sporting a posing suit in front of an audience.

Normally the v-cut figure suits are preferred, but don't give up preference for comfort your first figure competition or two. Your figure posing suit should sit low at your lower back and high on your hips to display your build better.

Accessories on your figure competition suit are a great plus. Rhinestones, jewels, and sequences pop out on darker colored suits. A less expensive path for adding flare to your posing suit is to add glittery velvet or hologram spandex material.

It's a good idea to get feedback from a seasoned figure competitor, your figure coach, or a figure judge for tips on your suit choice.

Finding the right figure competition suit for you will help make the winning difference in spotlighting and bringing out your physique. Take your time and get some feedback on what style and color of suit would look radiant on your physique.
