Concetta with her Figure Pro/Model Daughter, Vanessa Pipolithen she started to compete... and then I got the urge to try!
How long have you been into fitness and working out? I've been working out on and off for about 27 years... more on than off.
What is your competition weight and off-season weight? My first and only competition so far I was 113lbs. competition day. My off season so far has been between 125-128lbs.
What motivates you to keep in shape? I love the way I feel and look! I get a lot of compliments about how good I look at my age!
How do you stick to your fitness goals? I just take one day at a time and do the best I can to stay on track. If I do get off track, I don't beat myself up about it, I just get Re-Focused!
What is your nutrition like off-season? I eat clean and have one cheat meal once a week.
What is your contest preparation dieting protocol? I eat 6 meals a day consisting of lean protein, veggies, good fats and complex carbs. I follow my diet plan EXACTLY as Karen lays it out for me.
What is a basic cheat meal for you? A general cheat meal for me usually consists of a seasoned steak with a side of pasta with red sauce and a salad with dressing.
Are there any sacrifices? If so, how do you overcome them? Yes, there are sacrifices such as NOT eating processed foods, putting other things aside to have time to train. I overcome them by keeping focused on me and what I want to look like and feel like.
What do you find to be the hardest part about getting into contest shape and how do you overcome it? The hardest thing for me was juggling a husband, kids, work, training, cooking all the time. I overcame it with good time management and a strong desire to accomplish this.

- Monday - Tuesday: Resistance training and cardio
- Wednesday: Cardio only
- Thursday - Friday: Resistance training and cardio
- Saturday: Rest
- Sunday: Resistance training and cardio
Do you track your personal best lifts and if so, what are they? When I first started out I kept a journal of the weights I would use, then I would continue to up the poundage and I grew stronger. I don't have any personal best to brag about yet.
What do you do for cardio? I do the step mill, treadmill, ARC Trainer, elliptical, rowing aerobics and spin classes. I LOVE variety so I don't get bored.
Do you have any future competition plans? Yes. Since placing First in a regional show, I qualified to go into a provincial show in June 2012.
Do you use supplements? If so, what are your favorite supplements? Yes, I supplement my program with protein powder, BCAAs, fat burners, creatine, and glutamine. I pretty much supplement with anything Karen recommends to me. I Have no real favorites.
